8 months and crawling

It's amazing to see how fast babies master a new skill. This video was when James was first figuring out the crawl. Now, less than a week later, he's a pro -- ESPECIALLY if I am holding something he's not supposed to play with; he's drawn to the iPad like a moth to a flame.

For Brian's birthday, we went on a California adventure to Guernville to see some redwoods and down the coast on Highway 1 stopping for an overnight in Bodega Bay. Despite not loving being in the car, James did better than we could have even hoped for. He loved the hikes, was a perfect gentleman during meals out (someone actually came over to our table and complimented us on his amazingly good behavior and said when her children were 8 months she couldn't even leave the house with them without a tantrum), and even slept in the car which NEVER happens.

And in other news, it was hard work, but after buckets of slobber and some sleepless nights, (drumroll)... James has a tooth!
